A whole online shop for a Burnley bakery

Bonnies Glamour Bakes is an independent bakery in Burnley making brownies, cookies, muffins and celebration cakes. We built her online shop from the ground up, so customers can order for delivery or collection, ask for a celebration cake and find everything they need without having to ring first.

What we did

The whole store, set up and designed by us, from the first product to the last page.

Store set-up and design

  • Set up the Shopify store from scratch and connected the bakery’s own web address, with a secure (https) connection.
  • Designed the whole store around the bakery’s brown-and-blush branding, from the header and menus to the footer.
  • A bar across the top of every page showing today’s opening hours, the address and a link to delivery details.
  • Phone number and basket always in the header, and a footer with the address, page links, Instagram and Facebook.

Online menu

  • Built the menu: 39 products across 9 collections, including brownies and blondies, cookies, muffins, cookie pies, treat boxes and drinks.
  • Category buttons and sorting, with in-stock bakes shown first and the rest clearly marked “Out of stock” until Bonnie restocks.
  • An “In stock” collection that keeps the homepage menu showing what can be ordered today.
  • Product pages with the delivery fees, allergen guidance, an “Ask before you pay” link and more from the bakery underneath.

Delivery and collection

  • Set up free collection from the shop and local delivery within 5 miles, with the address checked at checkout before payment.
  • Delivery charges by distance (£3.50 up to 3 miles, £5 up to 5 miles) and a £15 minimum order, shown wherever customers need them.
  • Online ordering that pauses outside opening hours, with a clear message saying when it reopens.
  • A Delivery & Collection page that explains collection, delivery times, charges and opening hours in plain steps.

Celebration cakes

  • Designed and built a step-by-step cake request page: flavour, size, topper, date, and collection or delivery.
  • A running summary of the request beside the choices, so customers can check everything before sending.
  • Seven days’ notice and “price confirmed by Bonnie, nothing to pay upfront” made clear from the start.

Pages, trust and being found

  • Wrote and designed the homepage, About, FAQ, Contact and Delivery & Collection pages.
  • A “Loved in Burnley” section with Bonnie’s Google rating and reviews, linking to the full list on Google.
  • Contact form for orders and questions, plus a separate website feedback form so problems get reported.
  • Page titles and descriptions for the homepage and every collection, written for local searches around Burnley, Nelson and Brierfield.
  • Redirects from old product and collection addresses so earlier links still work, and a privacy policy.
